I’m not normally one for posting YouTube videos (in fact I don’t think I have ever posted one before!) but a friend just sent me this and I really wanted to share. I was just blown away. The research was done by Karl Fisch, Scott McLeod, and Jeff Bronman. There is more information on the presentation here.

Some of the facts mentioned in the presentation:

Did you know we are living in exponential times?

Did you know . . .
Sometimes size does matter.
* If you’re one in a million in China . . .
There are 1,300 people just like you.
* China will soon become the number one English speaking country in the world.
* The U.S. Department of Labor estimates that today’s learner will have 10-14 jobs . . .
By the age of 38.
* There are over 2.7 billion searches performed on Google each month.
* The number of text messages sent and received every day exceeds the population of the planet.
* If MySpace was a country, it would be the 5th largest country.
* There are about 540,000 words in the English language . . .
* It’s estimated that a week’s worth of New York Times . . .
Contains more information than a person was likely to come across in a lifetime in the 18th century.

It is really amazing. It has gotten around 2.7 million views so far. Check it out!
