I live only 5 minutes walk to a Borders bookstore and I’m there almost once a week! I have to pass it on the way to the supermarket and often get distracted and spend quite a while in there because browsing books to me is far more pleasant than going into a crowded, noisy, chaotic supermarket.

Recently, I found this fabulous book called Animal House by Catherine Ledner, whilst browsing the bargain tables. And given it’s quite a big book and hardcover, it was definitely a bargain! I would have been happy to pay full price for it, though.

I was initially drawn to it because of the beautiful wallpaper patterns. I am obsessed with patterns at the moment and the wallpaper patterns are just exquisite. Next – the animals! Who could resist these gorgeous photos of the cutest animals ever? Lastly – the cut-outs and the quotes. The book features a series of cut-out windows, and flip out pages, and funny quirky little animal-related quotes.

All in all, it’s a fantastic coffee table book! What’s not to love? Beautiful patterns and textures, amazing photography, cutesy wutesy animals. Catherine’s work is outstanding. I can only imagine what a hard task it would have been to get all those animals to stay still!
