// This morning I got a phone call at home. I don’t have phone in my room and was still asleep so I let the answering machine take the call. When I got up I listened to the message which sounded like a recording. They said they were from the Commonwealth Bank and that someone had tried to use my bank account and they wanted to verify my details to rectify the situation.
Aha.
Warning bells started ringing in my head. Is this a scam? But, but… what if it’s not? Curious and determined to get to the bottom of this, I rang the number they gave which seemed innocent enough, a local number.
There was a click sound which made me think the call was being transferred to another place.. perhaps into another country and there I got a recorded message saying they wanted me to enter my credit card number. Still no person and no introduction, nothing. I don’t think so, buddy! I told them what I really thought and hung up.
Ha.
